Warranty, Shipping & Returns

Warranty
Warranty basics
ObboMed alternating pressure mattress systems come with a manufacturer's warranty from ObboMed Group LLC. If you ordered through Morelli Medical, contact us first and we will handle the claim with ObboMed on your behalf.
Warranty length
Coverage varies by component:
  • Control unit: 2 years
  • Mattress: 2 years
  • Top cover: 1 year
Making a claim
Contact us before sending anything back, and we will walk you through the process. Proof of purchase is required for all warranty claims, so keep your order confirmation. Photos or video of the fault speed things up considerably. Email support@morellimedical.com or call (866) 338-2838.
Returns
Return policy
You have 30 days from receiving your order to request a return, and requests made after that are declined. To be eligible, the item must be new and unused, in its original packaging, with all documents and accessories included. Returns are inspected on arrival, and the cost of any missing or damaged parts is deducted from your refund.
How to start a return
Contact us before sending anything back. Items returned without an approved return authorization cannot be accepted. Once your return is approved, it must arrive back at the manufacturer within 30 days, or the authorization expires. Return shipping is arranged and paid by you, and you will need to send us the tracking numbers. If you prefer, we can arrange return shipping for you and deduct the cost from your refund. Email support@morellimedical.com or call (866) 338-2838.
Fees deducted from refunds
  • Original shipping cost: deducted even if your order shipped free
  • Return shipping cost: your responsibility, or deducted if we arrange it for you
  • Restocking fee: 25% of the item's value, with a minimum of $15
What cannot be returned
  • Installed items, bedding, slings and wearable products, for hygiene reasons
  • Medical mattresses that have been opened
  • Items under $25
  • Custom-built items made to non-standard specifications
If you are unsure whether your order falls into one of these categories, ask us before you buy.
Cancellations and refused deliveries
Orders can be canceled, but a 10% cancellation fee applies once an order is already being fulfilled. Custom-built items may carry a 25% cancellation fee, where cancellation is still possible. If an order has already shipped, or a delivery is refused, it is treated as a standard return, and the restocking fee and shipping costs are deducted.
Rejected returns
Returns showing obvious signs of use or damage may be rejected. If that happens, you pay the cost of shipping the item back to you, and items whose return shipping is not paid within 7 days will be disposed of.
Refunds
Once your return reaches the manufacturer, it is inspected and a credit is issued. Allow up to 30 days from the item's arrival for the refund to be processed, plus whatever time your bank or card issuer needs to post it.
Shipping
Shipping overview
ObboMed orders ship via UPS Ground.
Lead times
Orders usually ship the same day or the next business day. Built-to-order models, such as the UtilityAir OB-1600, take considerably longer, so call us for a current lead time before ordering one of these, especially if you are working to a discharge date.
Delivery time
Once your order ships, UPS Ground delivery usually takes 1–5 business days, depending on your location.
Filing a claim
If your order arrives damaged, contact us within 72 hours of delivery, because damage reported after that cannot be claimed. Inspect the packaging before the driver leaves where you can, and photograph any damage to the outer packaging as well as the contents. Email support@morellimedical.com or call (866) 338-2838 with your full name, order number and photos.

ObboMed StandardAir OB-1620

Rotation therapy and in-bed toileting, at the entry price

The OB-1620 is the entry point into ObboMed's StandardAir range: alternating pressure, 15 LPM low air loss and 15°/25° lateral rotation, with the patented "Easy Go" bedpan function and a 450 lb weight capacity. It is a 6″ single-layer mattress rather than the deeper systems higher in the range — simpler, lighter and considerably less expensive — but it keeps what caregivers care about most: it turns the patient, moves air across the skin, and opens for a bedpan without anyone having to lift them.

Who it's for

Home care and nursing settings where a patient spends most of the day in bed and budget is the deciding factor. ObboMed states it is intended for individuals at medium to high risk of pressure sores, stages I to IV. Rated to 450 lb.

Sitting up

Fowler seating support reinforces the torso and seat zones when the head of the bed is raised — the position where most air surfaces bottom out and where sacral pressure is highest.

For the caregiver

Push the quick-release valve and the cells beneath the hips deflate in about twenty seconds, leaving a recessed opening for a bedpan. Reinsert the valve and the surface re-inflates. No transfer, no second person.

Where this sits in the range

What you give up, and what you keep

Three things distinguish the OB-1620 from the models above it:

Rotation stops at 25°. You get 15° self-lateral plus 25° left, right and automatic; the OB-1680 adds a 40° full lateral turn.
Bedpan only, no shampoo function. The shampoo basin function appears further up the range.
No massager or body warmer. Both appear on the OB-2650 PremiumAir and OB-3650 UltraAir.

What carries over is the therapy itself: the same 15 LPM low air loss as every StandardAir and PremiumAir model, the same alternating cycles, the same 450 lb capacity, the same sinking feature and Fowler support. Call us on (866) 338-2838 to compare the models against a specific situation.

Before you order

Check it fits the bed and the person

The mattress is 80″ long by 36″ wide and 6″ deep, and sits on an existing bed frame — the frame and bedpan are not included. Measure the internal length and width of your frame before ordering, and check the patient's weight against the 450 lb capacity.

Features

ObboMed alternating pressure mattress features overview

01 · Pressure & Airflow

Alternating pressure with 15 LPM low air loss

Alternating pressure inflates and deflates the air cells on a cycle you set — 10, 20, 30 or 40 minutes — so no area of skin carries continuous load. Alongside it, internal fans deliver 15 LPM of airflow beneath a moisture-resistant top layer — the same airflow figure as every StandardAir and PremiumAir model, managing the heat and moisture that turn sustained pressure into skin breakdown.

Alternating pressure 15 LPM low air loss 10–40 min cycles

02 · Rotation

15° and 25°, left, right or automatic

The 15° self-lateral rotation runs as a gentle wave that redistributes weight without waking the patient; 25° turns left, right, or automatically alternates, on intervals from 10 minutes to 2 hours. That is the ceiling on this model — the 40° full lateral turn starts at the OB-1680. For most home care situations 25° is a meaningful reposition; if the care plan specifies a fuller turn, look higher in the range. Angles and intervals should follow the treating clinician's instructions.

15° self-lateral 25° left / right / auto 10 min – 2 hr intervals No 40° — see OB-1680

03 · "Easy Go" Bedpan

In-bed toileting, no transfer

Push the quick-release valve and the air cells beneath the hips deflate in about twenty seconds, forming a recessed opening that takes a bedpan; reinsert the valve and the mattress returns to shape. Patented and manually operated, it removes the transfer entirely — protecting fragile skin, and sparing a lone caregiver the one task that would otherwise need a second person. This model has the bedpan function only; the shampoo function appears further up the range. Bedpan not included.

04 · Safety & Positioning

An 8″ soft-sided well, and support when sitting up

The sinking feature lowers the surface by up to 4″ while the patented 4″ inflatable guardrails stand proud of it — an 8″ deep soft barrier that keeps the patient centred through pressure and rotation cycles and reduces the risk of rolling out of bed, without bruising or blocking caregiver access. Fowler seating support reinforces the torso and seat zones when the head of the bed is raised.

05 · Cover & Materials

German four-way stretch cover, machine washable

The cover is a German-made four-way stretch polyurethane fabric with a quilted underside, reducing the friction and shear that do damage alongside pressure itself. It is antimicrobial, moisture resistant and fully machine washable, and the whole system is flame retardant, latex-free, lead-free and mercury-free. No massager or body warmer on this model — those appear on the OB-2650 PremiumAir and OB-3650 UltraAir.

06 · Before You Order

Fit, functions and returns

  • Rotation stops at 25° on this model. If the care plan calls for a 40° lateral turn, the OB-1680 is the model to look at.
  • Bedpan function only — there is no "Easy Go" shampoo function on the OB-1620.
  • Weight capacity is 450 lb. Check it against the patient's weight before ordering.
  • The bed frame and bedpan are not included. The mattress is 80″ × 36″ × 6″ — measure your frame first.
  • Medical mattresses cannot be returned once opened, for hygiene reasons.
  • Inspect the packaging on arrival and report any damage within 72 hours of delivery — freight claims cannot be filed after that window.

This equipment should be selected and used in line with guidance from the patient's physician, wound care nurse or other qualified healthcare professional. Morelli Medical does not provide clinical assessment, prescribe equipment, or advise on wound management.
