Warranty basics
Feather Mobility provides a limited warranty covering defects in material and workmanship under normal use. Feather is a US manufacturer based in Tallman, New York, and Morelli Medical is an authorised dealer — so warranty support runs through us.
Warranty length
Coverage varies by product and component:
  • Manual wheelchair frames — Feather Chair, Chair HD, Transport: 1 year
  • Wheelchair wearable parts — wheels, upholstery, brakes, footrests: 6 months
  • Feather Scooter frame: 2 years
  • Feather Scooter electronics and wearable parts: 1 year
  • Feather Scooter battery: 6 months
  • Feather Power Chair frame: 1 year
  • Feather Power Chair wearable parts: 6 months
  • Feather Power Chair battery: 3 months
What is not covered
Warranty claims are excluded where damage results from:
  • accident, neglect or misuse
  • improper transportation arranged by the purchaser
  • operation contrary to the manufacturer's instructions
  • repair or modification by anyone other than authorised personnel
ABS plastic body shrouds, footrest covers, tires, tubes, upholstery and seating are treated as wear items and are not warranted. Gradual battery deterioration from being left discharged or stored in cold conditions is not covered.
Making a claim
Contact us first and we will walk you through it. Have your order number, the serial number from the frame, and photos or video of the fault ready — it speeds the process considerably. Email support@morellimedical.com or call (866) 338-2838.
Returns ▾
Return policy
You have 30 days from receiving your order to return it. To be eligible, the product must be new, in resaleable condition, and in its original box, so keep the box and packaging until you are sure the product is right for you.
How to start a return
Contact us before sending anything back. Once your return is approved, we will send you instructions for shipping it to Feather Mobility's facility in New Jersey. Items sent back without an approved return request cannot be accepted. Email support@morellimedical.com or call (866) 338-2838.
Return costs
  • Return shipping: paid by you
  • Restocking fee: 20% of the product price, deducted from your refund
Inspection and refunds
Feather Mobility inspects every returned product, and the decision on whether a refund is issued rests entirely with Feather. No refund is given if the product is not returned in its original box, or if it shows obvious signs of use.
Damaged or incorrect items
Inspect your order as soon as it arrives. If anything is defective, damaged, or not what you ordered, contact us immediately so we can put it right. Photographs of the packaging and the contents help considerably.
Before you order
Mobility equipment has to fit the person using it. Seat width, weight capacity and whether a chair is self-propelling or caregiver-pushed all matter, and getting one wrong is the most common reason for a return. Call us at (866) 338-2838 before you buy and we will size it with you.

Shipping overview
Feather Mobility orders are delivered by FedEx Ground or UPS Ground.
Lead times
In-stock products ship 1 business day after your order is placed. Ground transit time then depends on your location. If a product is out of stock, or you need it by a particular date, contact us before ordering and we will confirm when it can arrive.
Battery-powered products
The Feather Scooter and Feather Power Chair ship with lithium batteries, which carriers handle under special rules. If you need one delivered outside the contiguous United States, contact us before ordering.
Filing a claim
If your order arrives damaged, contact us as soon as possible so we can start the claim before the carrier's window closes. Inspect the carton before the driver leaves where you can, and photograph any damage to the box as well as the contents. The Feather Chair HD is the heavy-duty build of Feather's lightweight wheelchair: 22″ or 24″ seat width, 350 lb or 450 lb capacity, and a frame weighing 15 to 16 lb. It is self-propelling on 22″ rear wheels, and folds to 13″ wide — narrower than the standard Feather Chair.

Bariatric wheelchairs are usually heavy. That is the trade the category normally asks you to accept: more capacity means more steel, and a chair that takes two people to load into a car. The HD carries up to 450 lb on a frame lighter than most standard-duty chairs, which means the person using it keeps the independence that a heavier chair quietly takes away.

Who it's for

Someone who needs a wider seat or a higher weight capacity than a standard chair provides, and who wants to keep propelling themselves. Also suits a caregiver who has to load a heavy-duty chair into a car alone.

Deeper seat

Seat depth is 18″, two inches deeper than the standard Feather Chair. That supports more of the thigh, which matters on longer sits and for taller users.

Folds narrower

Folded width is 13″, which is narrower than the standard Feather Chair despite the wider seat. It slides down the side of a boot rather than filling it.

Choosing your width

22″ or 24″ — capacity comes with it

On most wheelchairs, seat width is a comfort choice. On the HD it is not: the 22″ chair is rated to 350 lb and the 24″ chair to 450 lb. If the user is above 350 lb, the 24″ is the only option regardless of how the seat feels.

Going the other way, the wider chair needs more doorway. Measure the narrowest interior door the chair has to pass through before ordering. If you are between the two, call us on (866) 338-2838 with the user's weight, hip width and your narrowest doorway, and we will work it out with you.

Up to 450 lb, on a 16 lb frame

The Feather Chair HD holds 350 lb with a 22″ seat or 450 lb with a 24″ seat, yet weighs just 22–23 lb complete, or 15–16 lb with the rear wheels off. According to Feather, no 22″, 350 lb wheelchair weighed under 40 lb before the HD. That means a heavy-duty chair one person can lift into a car, so it comes along instead of staying at home.

02 · Braking

Two braking systems, one for each person

The seated user has wheel locks at the front of the frame, within easy reach, to stop the chair rolling when parked or during a transfer. The companion has bicycle-style hand brakes on the push handles to slow the chair or hold it steady on ramps and slopes. On a chair carrying up to 450 lb, that extra control matters.

03 · Seating

Wider and two inches deeper

The HD has an 18″ seat depth, two inches deeper than the standard Feather Chair, so more of the thigh is supported and body weight is spread over a larger area. With a 22″ or 24″ seat width, it is built to fit taller and larger users comfortably, not just to carry more weight.

04 · Folding & Finish

Despite the wider seat, the HD folds to just 13″ wide, narrower than the standard Feather Chair, so it slips into a car trunk, a closet or behind a sofa. The matte black frame and green-piped seat and back cushions look like equipment someone chose, not hospital issue.

05 · Safety & Working Limits

Before you use it

  • Capacity depends on the width you order: 350 lb for the 22″ chair, 450 lb for the 24″. Do not exceed it.
  • Lock both wheels before getting in or out. Transfers are when most wheelchair falls happen.
  • Quick-release wheels and anti-tippers are sold separately. We recommend anti-tippers, especially for outdoor use.
  • Check the tires and wheels regularly, and have the chair inspected if anything works loose.
  • Read the owner's manual before first use.

This wheelchair is not rated for use as a seat in a moving vehicle. Choose mobility equipment with guidance from the user's physician, occupational therapist or other qualified healthcare professional.

Quick-release wheels and anti-tippers are add-ons, not standard equipment. We would recommend anti-tippers on a chair of this capacity, particularly for outdoor use. Ask us to quote them with the chair.

Overall width: Feather publishes an overall length of 32″ but does not publish overall width for this model. If you need that figure to clear a specific doorway, contact us and we will confirm it before you order rather than have you measure after delivery.

Not a vehicle seat: this wheelchair is not tested or certified for use as a seat in a moving vehicle. If the user needs to remain seated in their chair during transport, you need a transit-rated model — call us and we will point you to one.

What's Included

Recommended add-ons: quick-release rear wheels and anti-tippers are available separately. Quick-release wheels come off in seconds, which makes the folded chair narrower still for a car boot. Anti-tippers we would recommend as standard on a chair of this capacity.
