Warranty, Shipping & Returns

Warranty ▾
Warranty basics
ActiveAid shower commode chairs are made in the USA by Altimate Medical in Minnesota, and are warranted against defects in materials and workmanship. The warranty is extended to the original purchaser only. Morelli Medical is an authorised Altimate Medical supplier — so warranty service runs through us.
Warranty length
Coverage varies by component:
  • Stainless steel frame: 3 years
  • Brake mechanisms, locking mechanisms, wheels and casters: 1 year
  • Other metal and structural parts: 1 year
  • Upholstered components, plastic pads, rubber parts, painted surfaces, bearings and all other parts: 6 months on the 285TR and 600; 90 days on the ActiveAid SC
The warranty period starts on the date the chair ships from the factory, not the date it is delivered.
How warranty repairs work
Any product the manufacturer confirms is defective within the warranty period will be repaired or replaced, at the manufacturer's option. Repair or replacement is the sole remedy under the warranty. Labour for installing replacement parts is not included. Never send a product to the factory without prior authorisation — contact us first.
What is not covered
The warranty does not apply where:
  • the serial number has been removed or defaced
  • the product has been subject to negligence, abuse, misuse, or improper maintenance or storage
  • damage is beyond the manufacturer's control
  • the product has been modified without the manufacturer's written consent, including through unauthorised parts or attachments
  • problems arise from normal wear or from not following the instructions
Adding parts not made by the manufacturer, or parts that do not meet original equipment specifications, voids the warranty. The manufacturer decides whether a claim is covered, and is not liable for consequential or incidental damages.
Making a claim
Contact us first and we will walk you through it. Have your order number, the serial number from the chair's frame, and photos or video of the fault ready — it speeds the process considerably. Email support@morellimedical.com or call (866) 338-2838.
Returns ▾
Return policy
You have 30 days from receiving your order to request a return. To be eligible, the product must be in new or like-new condition, in its original packaging, with the serial number label intact and legible. Keep the box and packaging until you are sure the chair is right for you.
How to start a return
Contact us before sending anything back. Every return needs a Return Authorisation number from Altimate Medical, and we arrange this for you. Once your return is approved, we will send you instructions for shipping it back to the manufacturer in Minnesota. Items sent back without an approved return authorisation cannot be accepted. Email support@morellimedical.com or call (866) 338-2838.
Return costs
  • Return shipping: prepaid by you
  • Restocking fee: 20% of the product price, deducted from your refund
  • Original shipping charges: not refunded
Inspection and refunds
Altimate Medical inspects every returned product and determines whether it is in new or like-new condition. If a product arrives back damaged, the deduction can exceed the 20% restocking fee. Special-order parts and accessories that are not stock items cannot be refunded. Because shower commode chairs are personal hygiene equipment, a chair that has been used cannot be returned.
Damaged or incorrect items
Inspect your order as soon as it arrives. If anything is defective, damaged, or not what you ordered, contact us immediately so we can put it right. Where the error is on our side or the manufacturer's, the return is collected at no cost and refunded in full, including shipping. Photographs of the packaging and the contents help considerably.
Before you order
A shower commode chair has to fit the person using it and the bathroom it goes into. Frame width, seat type and opening, weight capacity, wheels or casters, and whether it goes over the toilet or uses the commode pan all matter, and getting one wrong is the most common reason for a return. ActiveAid advises that its chairs be used under the guidance of a physician or therapist. Call us at (866) 338-2838 before you buy and we will work through the configuration with you.
Shipping ▾
Shipping overview
ActiveAid chairs ship directly from Altimate Medical in Morton, Minnesota. Each chair ships with its owner's manual, which includes instructions for assembly, use and maintenance.
Lead times
Chairs typically ship in 7–10 business days, but lead times can extend to around 3 weeks depending on the model and configuration. Replacement parts usually ship within 24–48 hours. If you need your chair by a particular date, call us before ordering and we will confirm the current lead time for your specific order.
Filing a claim
Carriers accept liability for loss or damage once they collect the shipment, so claims have to be filed with the carrier. Inspect the shipment before the driver leaves, note any damage on the delivery receipt, and ask the driver to sign to acknowledge it. If damage is not obvious until you unpack, contact us straight away — hidden damage must be reported within 5 days of delivery. Email support@morellimedical.com or call (866) 338-2838 with your full name, order number and photos of the box and the contents.

ActiveAid SC Shower Commode Chair — Self-Propelled

$2,350.00

Every SC is built to the user and the bathroom — frame size, seat, wheels, footplates and setup specified per order. Send the therapist's recommendation to (866) 338-2838 or info@morellimedical.com for a free quote.

ActiveAid SC · Shower Commode Chair

Wheelchair-level adjustability, in one of the narrowest frames on the market

The SC is a self-propelled shower commode chair with the configurability of a lightweight manual wheelchair — independent seat slope, fore-aft seat aperture, back angle and rear wheel position, all set without custom modification. Slim wheels and hand rims bring a 16″ seat down to 21.5″ overall width, narrow enough for small bathrooms and standard doorways. Two frame heights, three widths, three depths and five frame colours.

Who it fits

Adults up to 310 lb (140 kg) who transfer independently or with a caregiver — including users with spinal cord injury, paraplegia, muscular dystrophy, MS, cerebral palsy or spina bifida.

Why the SC

Self-propelled, so the user moves themselves between shower and toilet. Turning diameter from 22″ and under-seat clearance sized for toilet access without a separate transfer.

Funding

ActiveAid publishes a funding guide — ask us for it. HCPCS coding depends on the configuration and whether the chair is used over a toilet; we confirm the code with the manufacturer before you submit.

The sibling question

Which ActiveAid

The SC is the rolling, self-propelled answer — the user drives it into the shower and over the toilet. The BCB is the stationary bench answer, for bridging a tub wall at a lower price and a higher 350 lb capacity. The 285 and 285TR add tilt and recline for users needing more postural support than a backrest, armrests and footrests provide. If the assessment calls for independent mobility in the bathroom, it's the SC.

How to order

Standard configuration, then build from there

The base price covers a complete, usable chair: black 18″W × 16″D frame, standard seat height, front-open moulded seat, fixed slope, standard casters, 22″ nylon wheels, bolted axles, scissor wheel locks, one-piece footplate, solid contoured back, fixed back, fixed push handles and flip-up armrests. Everything beyond that is a priced upgrade. Eight setup measurements — seat-to-floor, rear wheel position, seat aperture, armrest height, footplate angle, height and depth, back height — are set at the factory to the therapist's numbers at no charge.

Cleaning & Care

Rinse after each shower use and dry before storing. Clean with a non-abrasive, non-alcohol-based soap, germicidal wipes rated to kill C. difficile spores, or a bleach dilution up to 1:10 — avoid alcohol-based sanitisers on the seat upholstery. The commode pan may be autoclaved at 121 °C, 30 minutes, 15 psi. Inspect fasteners, upholstery, belts, wheels, casters and wheel locks at least weekly; wheel locks may need adjusting as tread wears.
