Warranty, Shipping & Returns

Warranty ▾
Warranty basics
ActiveAid shower commode chairs are made in the USA by Altimate Medical in Minnesota, and are warranted against defects in materials and workmanship. The warranty is extended to the original purchaser only. Morelli Medical is an authorised Altimate Medical supplier — so warranty service runs through us.
Warranty length
Coverage varies by component:
  • Stainless steel frame: 3 years
  • Brake mechanisms, locking mechanisms, wheels and casters: 1 year
  • Other metal and structural parts: 1 year
  • Upholstered components, plastic pads, rubber parts, painted surfaces, bearings and all other parts: 6 months on the 285TR and 600; 90 days on the ActiveAid SC
The warranty period starts on the date the chair ships from the factory, not the date it is delivered.
How warranty repairs work
Any product the manufacturer confirms is defective within the warranty period will be repaired or replaced, at the manufacturer's option. Repair or replacement is the sole remedy under the warranty. Labour for installing replacement parts is not included. Never send a product to the factory without prior authorisation — contact us first.
What is not covered
The warranty does not apply where:
  • the serial number has been removed or defaced
  • the product has been subject to negligence, abuse, misuse, or improper maintenance or storage
  • damage is beyond the manufacturer's control
  • the product has been modified without the manufacturer's written consent, including through unauthorised parts or attachments
  • problems arise from normal wear or from not following the instructions
Adding parts not made by the manufacturer, or parts that do not meet original equipment specifications, voids the warranty. The manufacturer decides whether a claim is covered, and is not liable for consequential or incidental damages.
Making a claim
Contact us first and we will walk you through it. Have your order number, the serial number from the chair's frame, and photos or video of the fault ready — it speeds the process considerably. Email support@morellimedical.com or call (866) 338-2838.
Returns ▾
Return policy
You have 30 days from receiving your order to request a return. To be eligible, the product must be in new or like-new condition, in its original packaging, with the serial number label intact and legible. Keep the box and packaging until you are sure the chair is right for you.
How to start a return
Contact us before sending anything back. Every return needs a Return Authorisation number from Altimate Medical, and we arrange this for you. Once your return is approved, we will send you instructions for shipping it back to the manufacturer in Minnesota. Items sent back without an approved return authorisation cannot be accepted. Email support@morellimedical.com or call (866) 338-2838.
Return costs
  • Return shipping: prepaid by you
  • Restocking fee: 20% of the product price, deducted from your refund
  • Original shipping charges: not refunded
Inspection and refunds
Altimate Medical inspects every returned product and determines whether it is in new or like-new condition. If a product arrives back damaged, the deduction can exceed the 20% restocking fee. Special-order parts and accessories that are not stock items cannot be refunded. Because shower commode chairs are personal hygiene equipment, a chair that has been used cannot be returned.
Damaged or incorrect items
Inspect your order as soon as it arrives. If anything is defective, damaged, or not what you ordered, contact us immediately so we can put it right. Where the error is on our side or the manufacturer's, the return is collected at no cost and refunded in full, including shipping. Photographs of the packaging and the contents help considerably.
Before you order
A shower commode chair has to fit the person using it and the bathroom it goes into. Frame width, seat type and opening, weight capacity, wheels or casters, and whether it goes over the toilet or uses the commode pan all matter, and getting one wrong is the most common reason for a return. ActiveAid advises that its chairs be used under the guidance of a physician or therapist. Call us at (866) 338-2838 before you buy and we will work through the configuration with you.
Shipping ▾
Shipping overview
ActiveAid chairs ship directly from Altimate Medical in Morton, Minnesota. Each chair ships with its owner's manual, which includes instructions for assembly, use and maintenance.
Lead times
Chairs typically ship in 7–10 business days, but lead times can extend to around 3 weeks depending on the model and configuration. Replacement parts usually ship within 24–48 hours. If you need your chair by a particular date, call us before ordering and we will confirm the current lead time for your specific order.
Filing a claim
Carriers accept liability for loss or damage once they collect the shipment, so claims have to be filed with the carrier. Inspect the shipment before the driver leaves, note any damage on the delivery receipt, and ask the driver to sign to acknowledge it. If damage is not obvious until you unpack, contact us straight away — hidden damage must be reported within 5 days of delivery. Email support@morellimedical.com or call (866) 338-2838 with your full name, order number and photos of the box and the contents.

ActiveAid BCB Bath Commode Bench Shower Chair

$750.00

Configured to the user and the bathroom — seats, backs, armrests, benches and supports specified per order. Send the therapist's recommendation to (866) 338-2838 or info@morellimedical.com for a free quote.

ActiveAid BCB · Bath Commode Bench

Four directions of perineal access, and a bench that bridges the tub

The BCB is a modular bathing and toileting chair built around a choice most commode chairs don't offer: a contoured seat with the cut-out opening front, rear, left or right. Add a transfer bench to bridge a tub wall, and independently height-adjustable chair and bench legs keep the seating surface level across an uneven floor. Rated to 350 lb, on a black stainless steel frame.

Who it fits

Adults up to 350 lb (158.8 kg) who transfer independently or with a caregiver — including users with spinal cord injury, paraplegia, muscular dystrophy, MS, cerebral palsy or spina bifida.

Why modular

One frame covers commode use, bathing, or both. Ten seat options, three bench styles and a solid-seat option let the same chair suit a toileting routine, a shower, or a tub transfer.

Funding

ActiveAid publishes a funding guide — ask us for it. HCPCS coding depends on the configuration and whether the chair is used over a toilet; we confirm the code with the manufacturer before you submit.

The sibling question

Which ActiveAid

The BCB replaces the ActiveAid 202, which is no longer quotable — if you own a 202 and need a like-for-like replacement, this is it. Alongside it, the ActiveAid SC adds seat height and slope adjustment on a rolling base, and the 285 and 285TR add tilt and recline for users needing more postural support than a backrest and armrests provide. The BCB is the bench-and-tub answer; the SC and 285 series are the mobility answers.

How to order

Every BCB is built to order

There is no stock configuration. Each order pairs the PH5000 frame with one selection from each required category, plus whatever supports the assessment calls for. Send us the therapist's recommendation, or the measurements and the bathroom layout, and we will build the quote. If you already have an ActiveAid order form filled out, send that instead.

Features

ActiveAid BCB with front-opening contoured seat and 14-inch floor-supported transfer bench

01 · Transfer Bench & Base

Slide across without stepping over the tub wall

The 18″ × 18″ contoured seat opens to the front, rear, left or right and pairs with a 9″ or 14″ floor-supported transfer bench, or a tub-supported short bench for bathrooms where permanent changes aren't possible. Chair and bench legs adjust independently, so both surfaces stay level across a tub ledge or sloped shower floor, with the bench cushion sitting just 0.5″–1.5″ from the seat. Legs take crutch tips, suction cups, or two of each.

9″ or 14″ bench Independent leg height Crutch tips or suction cups

02 · Armrests

Lift one side clear, keep the other locked in

Each side is ordered separately. Flip-up armrests raise out of the way for the transfer, on brackets that are height-adjustable from 8″ to 14.5″ above the seat. 2-point locking armrests sit fixed at 9″ for steady support. Mix them, flip-up on the transfer side and locking on the other, so the user has something firm to push from and nothing in the way as they move across.

03 · Commode Pan

Bedside use, with less splash to clean up

The optional pan, cover and hanger sits under the seat opening for bedside use, or wherever over-toilet use isn't indicated. A raised inner spine runs front to back to help reduce splashing, and the pan is designed for easy placement and removal, so emptying and cleaning stay quick.

04 · Options & Upgrades

Configure your ActiveAid BCB

Every BCB is built to order. The main choices:

  • Frame — PH5000, 18″ W × 18″ D black stainless steel
  • Seat — front, rear, left, right, closed or solid; molded foam or molded gel
  • Back — solid contoured foam, or sling back with tension straps and rigidizer bar
  • Armrests — flip-up height-adjustable or 2-point locking, left and right ordered separately
  • Bench — floor-supported 9″ or 14″, or tub-supported short 9″
  • Legs — four crutch tips, four suction cups, or two of each
  • Commode pan — pan, cover and hanger with a low-splash raised inner spine
  • Belts — waist, trunk or combination, including Bodypoint® options with quick-release knobs
  • Handles — fixed push handle or fold-down push handle; back canes are capped if neither is ordered

05 · Before You Order

Fit, configuration and safe use

  • Two configuration rules that catch people out. A 2-point locking armrest and a transfer bench cannot be used on the same side of the chair. And molded gel is not available in rear-opening or solid seats.
  • There is a stated contraindication. The BCB is not suitable for users who need more postural support than a backrest and armrests provide — for those users, look at the 285 or 285TR instead.
  • Expected service life is 3 years under daily use, and ActiveAid does not recommend re-issuing a chair past that. Warranty terms are tiered and shorter on wear parts — see below.
  • Indoor use only, on accessibility-compliant floors. Surfaces must be stable, firm and slip-resistant with thresholds up to ½″. Suitable for bathrooms, not pools or similarly corrosive environments. Do not submerge. This is not a long-term seating system.
  • Read the Instructions For Use in full before first use, and inspect all fasteners weekly.

Selection, adjustment and transfer technique should be determined by the user and a qualified medical professional. Morelli Medical supplies equipment and does not provide clinical assessment, prescribe therapy, or advise on transfer protocols.
