Warranty, Shipping & Returns

Warranty ▾
Warranty basics
ActiveAid shower commode chairs are made in the USA by Altimate Medical in Minnesota, and are warranted against defects in materials and workmanship. The warranty is extended to the original purchaser only. Morelli Medical is an authorised Altimate Medical supplier — so warranty service runs through us.
Warranty length
Coverage varies by component:
  • Stainless steel frame: 3 years
  • Brake mechanisms, locking mechanisms, wheels and casters: 1 year
  • Other metal and structural parts: 1 year
  • Upholstered components, plastic pads, rubber parts, painted surfaces, bearings and all other parts: 6 months on the 285TR and 600; 90 days on the ActiveAid SC
The warranty period starts on the date the chair ships from the factory, not the date it is delivered.
How warranty repairs work
Any product the manufacturer confirms is defective within the warranty period will be repaired or replaced, at the manufacturer's option. Repair or replacement is the sole remedy under the warranty. Labour for installing replacement parts is not included. Never send a product to the factory without prior authorisation — contact us first.
What is not covered
The warranty does not apply where:
  • the serial number has been removed or defaced
  • the product has been subject to negligence, abuse, misuse, or improper maintenance or storage
  • damage is beyond the manufacturer's control
  • the product has been modified without the manufacturer's written consent, including through unauthorised parts or attachments
  • problems arise from normal wear or from not following the instructions
Adding parts not made by the manufacturer, or parts that do not meet original equipment specifications, voids the warranty. The manufacturer decides whether a claim is covered, and is not liable for consequential or incidental damages.
Making a claim
Contact us first and we will walk you through it. Have your order number, the serial number from the chair's frame, and photos or video of the fault ready — it speeds the process considerably. Email support@morellimedical.com or call (866) 338-2838.
Returns ▾
Return policy
You have 30 days from receiving your order to request a return. To be eligible, the product must be in new or like-new condition, in its original packaging, with the serial number label intact and legible. Keep the box and packaging until you are sure the chair is right for you.
How to start a return
Contact us before sending anything back. Every return needs a Return Authorisation number from Altimate Medical, and we arrange this for you. Once your return is approved, we will send you instructions for shipping it back to the manufacturer in Minnesota. Items sent back without an approved return authorisation cannot be accepted. Email support@morellimedical.com or call (866) 338-2838.
Return costs
  • Return shipping: prepaid by you
  • Restocking fee: 20% of the product price, deducted from your refund
  • Original shipping charges: not refunded
Inspection and refunds
Altimate Medical inspects every returned product and determines whether it is in new or like-new condition. If a product arrives back damaged, the deduction can exceed the 20% restocking fee. Special-order parts and accessories that are not stock items cannot be refunded. Because shower commode chairs are personal hygiene equipment, a chair that has been used cannot be returned.
Damaged or incorrect items
Inspect your order as soon as it arrives. If anything is defective, damaged, or not what you ordered, contact us immediately so we can put it right. Where the error is on our side or the manufacturer's, the return is collected at no cost and refunded in full, including shipping. Photographs of the packaging and the contents help considerably.
Before you order
A shower commode chair has to fit the person using it and the bathroom it goes into. Frame width, seat type and opening, weight capacity, wheels or casters, and whether it goes over the toilet or uses the commode pan all matter, and getting one wrong is the most common reason for a return. ActiveAid advises that its chairs be used under the guidance of a physician or therapist. Call us at (866) 338-2838 before you buy and we will work through the configuration with you.
Shipping ▾
Shipping overview
ActiveAid chairs ship directly from Altimate Medical in Morton, Minnesota. Each chair ships with its owner's manual, which includes instructions for assembly, use and maintenance.
Lead times
Chairs typically ship in 7–10 business days, but lead times can extend to around 3 weeks depending on the model and configuration. Replacement parts usually ship within 24–48 hours. If you need your chair by a particular date, call us before ordering and we will confirm the current lead time for your specific order.
Filing a claim
Carriers accept liability for loss or damage once they collect the shipment, so claims have to be filed with the carrier. Inspect the shipment before the driver leaves, note any damage on the delivery receipt, and ask the driver to sign to acknowledge it. If damage is not obvious until you unpack, contact us straight away — hidden damage must be reported within 5 days of delivery. Email support@morellimedical.com or call (866) 338-2838 with your full name, order number and photos of the box and the contents.

ActiveAid 600 · Rehab Shower/Commode Chair

Fitted to one user, or set up for a whole facility

ActiveAid's most configurable rehab shower/commode chair. Three mobility options — four 5″ casters, 20″ or 24″ rear wheels — four frame sizes from 18″ to 22″ wide, and eighteen seats, several of which rotate to put the opening on any side. Stainless steel frame rated to 350 lb.

Who it fits

Adults up to 350 lb in rehabilitation, long-term care or home care. Self-propellers take the 20″ or 24″ wheels; caregiver-pushed users take four casters and a stroller-handle back.

Why the 600

The widest option set in the range on a rigid frame. One chair serves a single client at home or a rotating caseload in a facility — which is why it's most often bought in multiples.

Funding

ActiveAid publishes a funding guide and supports letters of medical necessity — ask us for both. We confirm HCPCS coding with the manufacturer before you submit.

The sibling question

600, SC or 285

The 600 is the fixed-frame chair with the most sizes, seats and wheel choices. The SC is the modular system with seat height and slope adjustment. If tilt is specified, it's the 285; tilt and recline, the 285TR. Rigid and upright, with self-propel wheels: the 600. Positioning that changes during use: a tilt model.

Two ways to buy

Itemised build or package

An itemised build specifies every component — the only route for special-size frames. A package bundles a tested 18″×18″ chair at one price: Package 1 on four dual-locking casters, Package 2 on 24″ wheels. Both include padded arms, gooseneck leg rests, solid back, waist belt and pan, with a choice of five seats.

Features

ActiveAid 600 with swing-away laterals and positioning supports

01 · Support & Positioning

Fitted to the user, from least to most involved

The 600 is built for rehabilitation, long-term care and home care clients, and the caregivers who support them. Swing-away adjustable laterals and arm-mounted hip guides come as separate left and right parts, with a large abductor/deflector available. Positioning belts include Bodypoint® trunk, XL trunk, knee and quick-release options, plus waist belts and calf straps.

Left & right laterals Hip guides Bodypoint® belts

02 · Leg Rests & Mobility

Elevating leg rests, and four casters or rear wheels

Elevating leg rests come as left and right parts, with a length range of 17″ to 24″ raised. Gooseneck leg rests cover 14″ to 20.25″, and a one-piece footplate/leg rest is available in 18″, 20″ and 22″ widths. Choose four 5″ casters or 20″ or 24″ rear wheels in standard, pneumatic or flat-free street tread, with bolted or quick-release axles, PVC handrims and wheel locks.

03 · Frame, Seats & Backs

Stainless steel, 18″ to 22″ wide, rated to 350 lb

The stainless steel frame comes in 18″×18″, 18″×20″, 20″×18″ and 22″×18″ sizes, in black or white, with a 350 lb weight capacity. Seats include several 4-way adjustable options for opening access in any direction, in Ensolite®, Comfortuff, molded foam and molded gel. Backs come as a sling back with stroller handles, a solid back, or an 18″ contoured back.

18″–22″ frame widths 4-way adjustable seats Sling, solid or contoured back

04 · Options & Upgrades

Configure your ActiveAid 600

  • Frame — 18″×18″ standard; 18″×20″, 20″×18″, 22″×18″ special order. Black or white
  • Mobility — four 5″ casters, or 20″ / 24″ rear wheels in solid, pneumatic or flat-free tread; PVC handrims
  • Axles and wheel locks — bolted or quick-release; wheel locks standard or extended handle
  • Front casters — 5″ standard or dual-locking
  • Seat — eighteen options, matched to frame width and depth
  • Back — sling with stroller handles, solid, or contoured (18″ only)
  • Armrests — flip-up with pad, 18″ or 20″ depth; left and right separately
  • Leg rests — gooseneck, elevating or one-piece; foot plates plain, heel-loop, padded or oversized aluminium
  • Positioning aids — swing-away laterals, hip guides, abductor/deflector, front anti-tippers
  • Belts and pans — waist, trunk, knee, calf and Bodypoint® belts; pan and hanger to frame size

05 · Before You Order

Fit, configuration and safe use

  • Frame, seat, back and pan must match in width; seat and pan must also match frame depth. The most common ordering error on the 600.
  • Armrests must match frame depth — 18″ arms on an 18″-deep frame, 20″ on 20″. Left and right are separate lines.
  • Wheels need an axle set and wheel locks; handrims must match wheel size. The one-piece foot plate/leg rest requires front anti-tippers and excludes separate foot plates.
  • Belt dependencies. No calf straps with elevating leg rests. The standard waist belt fits the 18″ frame only. Gooseneck and elevating leg rests do not include foot plates.
  • Only the 18″×18″ frame is standard. The other three are special order.
  • Every order requires a named ATP and follows the treating therapist's recommendation.
  • Indoor use only. Stable, slip-resistant floors; do not submerge. Lock wheels before every transfer, never transfer on the foot plates, and keep the anti-tip levers fitted. Check all fasteners weekly.

Selection, adjustment and transfer technique should be determined by the user and a qualified medical professional. Morelli Medical supplies equipment and does not provide clinical assessment, prescribe therapy, or advise on transfer protocols.

Cleaning & Care

Rinse after each shower use, wipe down and dry before storing. Clean with a mild detergent, a non-abrasive non-alcohol-based soap, germicidal wipes rated to kill C. difficile spores, or a bleach dilution up to 1:10 on upholstery — avoid alcohol-based sanitisers on the pads. Inspect fasteners, upholstery, belts, wheels, casters and wheel locks at least weekly; wheel locks may need adjusting as tyre tread wears.
