Warranty basics
ActiveAid shower commode chairs are made in the USA by Altimate Medical in Minnesota, and are warranted against defects in materials and workmanship. The warranty is extended to the original purchaser only. Morelli Medical is an authorised Altimate Medical supplier — so warranty service runs through us.
Warranty length
Coverage varies by component:
  • Stainless steel frame: 3 years
  • Brake mechanisms, locking mechanisms, wheels and casters: 1 year
  • Other metal and structural parts: 1 year
  • Upholstered components, plastic pads, rubber parts, painted surfaces, bearings and all other parts: 6 months on the 285TR and 600; 90 days on the ActiveAid SC
The warranty period starts on the date the chair ships from the factory, not the date it is delivered.
How warranty repairs work
Any product the manufacturer confirms is defective within the warranty period will be repaired or replaced, at the manufacturer's option. Repair or replacement is the sole remedy under the warranty. Labour for installing replacement parts is not included. Never send a product to the factory without prior authorisation — contact us first.
What is not covered
The warranty does not apply where:
  • the serial number has been removed or defaced
  • the product has been subject to negligence, abuse, misuse, or improper maintenance or storage
  • damage is beyond the manufacturer's control
  • the product has been modified without the manufacturer's written consent, including through unauthorised parts or attachments
  • problems arise from normal wear or from not following the instructions
Adding parts not made by the manufacturer, or parts that do not meet original equipment specifications, voids the warranty. The manufacturer decides whether a claim is covered, and is not liable for consequential or incidental damages.
Making a claim
Contact us first and we will walk you through it. Have your order number, the serial number from the chair's frame, and photos or video of the fault ready — it speeds the process considerably. Email support@morellimedical.com or call (866) 338-2838.
Returns ▾
Return policy
You have 30 days from receiving your order to request a return. To be eligible, the product must be in new or like-new condition, in its original packaging, with the serial number label intact and legible. Keep the box and packaging until you are sure the chair is right for you.
How to start a return
Contact us before sending anything back. Every return needs a Return Authorisation number from Altimate Medical, and we arrange this for you. Once your return is approved, we will send you instructions for shipping it back to the manufacturer in Minnesota. Items sent back without an approved return authorisation cannot be accepted. Inspection and refunds
Altimate Medical inspects every returned product and determines whether it is in new or like-new condition. If a product arrives back damaged, the deduction can exceed the 20% restocking fee. Special-order parts and accessories that are not stock items cannot be refunded. Because shower commode chairs are personal hygiene equipment, a chair that has been used cannot be returned.
Damaged or incorrect items
Inspect your order as soon as it arrives. If anything is defective, damaged, or not what you ordered, contact us immediately so we can put it right. Where the error is on our side or the manufacturer's, the return is collected at no cost and refunded in full, including shipping. Photographs of the packaging and the contents help considerably.
Before you order
A shower commode chair has to fit the person using it and the bathroom it goes into. Frame width, seat type and opening, weight capacity, wheels or casters, and whether it goes over the toilet or uses the commode pan all matter, and getting one wrong is the most common reason for a return. ActiveAid advises that its chairs be used under the guidance of a physician or therapist. Call us at (866) 338-2838 before you buy and we will work through the configuration with you.

Shipping overview
ActiveAid chairs ship directly from Altimate Medical in Morton, Minnesota. Each chair ships with its owner's manual, which includes instructions for assembly, use and maintenance.
Lead times
Chairs typically ship in 7–10 business days, but lead times can extend to around 3 weeks depending on the model and configuration. Replacement parts usually ship within 24–48 hours. If you need your chair by a particular date, call us before ordering and we will confirm the current lead time for your specific order.
Filing a claim
Carriers accept liability for loss or damage once they collect the shipment, so claims have to be filed with the carrier. Inspect the shipment before the driver leaves, note any damage on the delivery receipt, and ask the driver to sign to acknowledge it. If damage is not obvious until you unpack, contact us straight away — hidden damage must be reported within 5 days of delivery. The 101 is the simplest chair in the ActiveAid range and, for the right user, the most practical. The frame orients four ways over a toilet, so a single seat opening serves front, rear, left or right access depending on how you set it down. The frame alone weighs 7 lb; a complete chair comes in under 20 lb, and the legs pull off tool-free for travel. Rated to 350 lb.

Adults up to 350 lb who transfer independently or with a caregiver, and who don't need a backrest or armrests. Seats in 16″ or 18″ width and depth.

Why the 101

Smallest footprint in the range — 21.5″ overall at its narrowest. It fits bathrooms and showers that won't take a wheeled chair, and packs down for travel.

The 101 is the minimum viable answer — no back, no armrests, no wheels, and the lowest price in the range. Add a backrest, armrests and a tub-bridging bench and you want the BCB. Add wheels and self-propulsion and you want the SC. Add tilt or recline and you want the 285 or 285TR. If the user has good trunk control and the bathroom is tight, the 101 does the job for a fraction of the cost.

Frame, legs, seat

Three selections and the chair is complete. The PRT50000 frame is the only frame. Choose short or long legs with crutch tips or suction cups, then one of nine seats. There are no accessories, no dependencies and nothing to get wrong — which is the point of this chair.

Perineal access from any of four directions

Most commode chairs commit you to one opening direction at order time. The 101 doesn't — the frame is symmetrical, so it sets down four ways over a toilet. Turn it to put the opening where the caregiver needs it, or where the user reaches most easily. Six of the nine seats work in all four positions.

Nine seats in foam, gel and Ensolite®

Front-open, front/rear-open and oval contoured shapes, with openings from a 3.5″ × 6″ waterfall up to a 7.25″ × 12.5″ oval. Materials run from 1″ Ensolite® foam to 2.5″ moulded gel for users needing more pressure distribution. Every seat is specified with its exact opening dimensions, so the fit can be matched rather than guessed.

03 · Height & Portability

Snap-button legs, on or off in seconds

Short legs cover 15.5″–18.5″ transfer height, long legs 18.5″–21.5″ — each with 3″ of range on a tool-free snap button. The same button removes the legs entirely, which is what makes this chair travel: a 7 lb frame plus a seat, flat in a case. Crutch tips or suction cups, chosen at order.

  • Legs — short or long, with crutch tips or suction cups. Suction cups grip tile and smooth shower floors; crutch tips suit textured surfaces.
  • Seat — nine options across Ensolite® foam, moulded foam and moulded gel, in front-open, front/rear-open and oval contoured shapes, 16″ or 18″ wide and 15.5″ to 18″ deep.

05 · Before You Order

Fit, configuration and safe use

  • The 101 has no backrest, armrests or footrests. That's the trade for its size and weight. If the user needs any of those, the BCB is the next step up — we can quote both.
  • Legs decide transfer height and it can't be changed later. Short covers 15.5″–18.5″, long covers 18.5″–21.5″. They overlap at 18.5″ only, so measure against the user's wheelchair or bed before choosing.
  • Six of the nine seats work in all four frame positions. The three that don't are still fine — they simply orient one way. Tell us if four-way access matters and we'll flag it on the quote.
  • Every order requires a named ATP. Send us the therapist's recommendation and we'll build to it.
  • Indoor use only. Suitable for bathrooms on stable, firm, slip-resistant floors — not pools or similarly corrosive environments. Read the owner's manual in full before first use and check all fasteners regularly.

Register your chair with ActiveAid after delivery — you'll need the serial number.

Cleaning & Care

Rinse after each shower use and dry before storing. Clean with a non-abrasive, non-alcohol-based soap, germicidal wipes rated to kill C. difficile spores, or a bleach dilution up to 1:10 — avoid alcohol-based sanitisers on the seat upholstery. Inspect all fasteners, snap buttons, upholstery, suction cups and crutch tips regularly.
