Warranty, Shipping & Returns

Warranty
Warranty basics
ObboMed alternating pressure mattress systems come with a manufacturer's warranty from ObboMed Group LLC. If you ordered through Morelli Medical, contact us first and we will handle the claim with ObboMed on your behalf.
Warranty length
Coverage varies by component:
  • Control unit: 2 years
  • Mattress: 2 years
  • Top cover: 1 year
Making a claim
Contact us before sending anything back, and we will walk you through the process. Proof of purchase is required for all warranty claims, so keep your order confirmation. Photos or video of the fault speed things up considerably. Email support@morellimedical.com or call (866) 338-2838.
Returns
Return policy
You have 30 days from receiving your order to request a return, and requests made after that are declined. To be eligible, the item must be new and unused, in its original packaging, with all documents and accessories included. Returns are inspected on arrival, and the cost of any missing or damaged parts is deducted from your refund.
How to start a return
Contact us before sending anything back. Items returned without an approved return authorization cannot be accepted. Once your return is approved, it must arrive back at the manufacturer within 30 days, or the authorization expires. Return shipping is arranged and paid by you, and you will need to send us the tracking numbers. If you prefer, we can arrange return shipping for you and deduct the cost from your refund. Email support@morellimedical.com or call (866) 338-2838.
Fees deducted from refunds
  • Original shipping cost: deducted even if your order shipped free
  • Return shipping cost: your responsibility, or deducted if we arrange it for you
  • Restocking fee: 25% of the item's value, with a minimum of $15
What cannot be returned
  • Installed items, bedding, slings and wearable products, for hygiene reasons
  • Medical mattresses that have been opened
  • Items under $25
  • Custom-built items made to non-standard specifications
If you are unsure whether your order falls into one of these categories, ask us before you buy.
Cancellations and refused deliveries
Orders can be canceled, but a 10% cancellation fee applies once an order is already being fulfilled. Custom-built items may carry a 25% cancellation fee, where cancellation is still possible. If an order has already shipped, or a delivery is refused, it is treated as a standard return, and the restocking fee and shipping costs are deducted.
Rejected returns
Returns showing obvious signs of use or damage may be rejected. If that happens, you pay the cost of shipping the item back to you, and items whose return shipping is not paid within 7 days will be disposed of.
Refunds
Once your return reaches the manufacturer, it is inspected and a credit is issued. Allow up to 30 days from the item's arrival for the refund to be processed, plus whatever time your bank or card issuer needs to post it.
Shipping
Shipping overview
ObboMed orders ship via UPS Ground.
Lead times
Orders usually ship the same day or the next business day. Built-to-order models, such as the UtilityAir OB-1600, take considerably longer, so call us for a current lead time before ordering one of these, especially if you are working to a discharge date.
Delivery time
Once your order ships, UPS Ground delivery usually takes 1–5 business days, depending on your location.
Filing a claim
If your order arrives damaged, contact us within 72 hours of delivery, because damage reported after that cannot be claimed. Inspect the packaging before the driver leaves where you can, and photograph any damage to the outer packaging as well as the contents. Email support@morellimedical.com or call (866) 338-2838 with your full name, order number and photos.

ObboMed

ObboMed OB-1600 UtilityAir Alternating Pressure Mattress

$998.00

Medical mattresses cannot be returned once opened, for hygiene reasons. Confirm the model and features with the treating clinician before ordering.

Lead time: the UtilityAir is built to order, so it can take considerably longer to ship than the rest of the range. Call us on (866) 338-2838 for a current lead time before you order — particularly if the patient is being discharged to a date.

ObboMed UtilityAir OB-1600

Rotation that happens on its own, with nothing to set

The OB-1600 UtilityAir is the simplest system ObboMed builds: patented cone-shaped air cells produce a 15° self-lateral wave automatically whenever the mattress is in alternating mode — no timer to programme, no button to press. Switch it on, choose a cycle time, and it redistributes weight and gently rotates the patient without anyone having to understand a control panel. It runs 15 LPM low air loss, carries a 450 lb capacity, and weighs under 13 lb.

Who it's for

Home care where simplicity matters more than options, and settings needing a straightforward pressure surface without a control panel to learn. ObboMed states it is intended for individuals at medium to high risk of pressure sores, stages I to IV. Rated to 450 lb.

Light to handle

The mattress weighs 12.8 lb and the control unit 10.2 lb — roughly a third of the UltraAir systems. One person can fit it, move it between rooms, or take it to a respite placement.

Staying centred

A 7″ side bolster stands proud of the 6″ sleeping surface, and the cone cells sink the centre as they rotate — a soft-sided well that keeps the patient in the middle of the bed.

Where this sits in the range

The simplest system, and what that means

The UtilityAir is deliberately stripped back. Three things it does not have:

No "Easy Go" bedpan function. Every other model in the range has one; the OB-1620 is the least expensive model that offers it.
Rotation is 15° only, and automatic. No 25° or 40° setting and no separate rotation timer — the wave happens as part of the alternating cycle.
No massager or body warmer. Both appear on the OB-2650 PremiumAir and OB-3650 UltraAir.

What it keeps is the therapy that does the work: alternating pressure, low air loss, self-lateral rotation, Fowler seating support and the sinking centralisation design. Call us on (866) 338-2838 to compare the models against a specific situation.

Before you order

Check the fit, and the lead time

The mattress is 80″ long by 36″ wide by 7″ high at the bolster, with a 6″ sleeping surface. It sits on an existing bed frame — the frame is not included. Measure your frame first, check the patient's weight against the 450 lb capacity, and ask us for the current lead time before committing.

Features

ObboMed alternating pressure mattress features overview

01 · Cone-Shaped Cells

Rotation built into the alternating cycle

This is the patented idea the UtilityAir is built on. The air cells are cone-shaped rather than cylindrical, so as they inflate and deflate through the alternating cycle they tilt the body slightly to each side in turn — a 15° self-lateral wave that happens automatically, with no separate rotation function to programme. Weight is redistributed and pressure points relieved, all from a single mode.

02 · Pressure & Airflow

Alternating pressure with 15 LPM low air loss

Alternating pressure runs on cycles of 10, 20, 30 or 40 minutes — the same range as every model in the ObboMed line — and a ventilation system delivers 15 LPM of low air loss beneath the body to keep the microclimate dry. The pump runs at 20 LPM: enough for a single-layer mattress, and considerably quieter and lighter than the 50 LPM units higher in the range.

03 · Safety & Positioning

A 7″ bolster and a sinking centre

The sleeping surface is 6″ deep and the side bolsters stand at 7″, so there is a raised perimeter even before anything moves. As the cone cells work, the centre sinks up to 4″ — deepening the perimeter into a soft-sided well roughly 5″ deep that holds the patient centred through the rotation. The bolster is inflatable rather than rigid, so it does not bruise or restrict caregiver access, and Fowler seating support reinforces the torso and seat zones when the head of the bed is raised.

04 · Weight & Cover

Under 13 lb, and washable

The mattress weighs 12.8 lb and the control unit 10.2 lb — roughly a third of the UltraAir systems, a practical difference when one person is fitting or moving it. The cover is antimicrobial, liquid-resistant and flame retardant, designed to minimise skin friction and shear, and the whole system is built latex-free, lead-free and mercury-free.

05 · Before You Order

Functions, fit and lead time

  • No "Easy Go" bedpan function on this model. If in-bed toileting without a transfer matters, the OB-1620 is the least expensive model that offers it.
  • Rotation is 15° only, produced automatically by the cone-shaped cells. There is no 25° or 40° setting and no separate rotation timer.
  • Built to order. Lead times are considerably longer than the rest of the range — call us for a current figure before ordering.
  • Weight capacity is 450 lb, and the bed frame is not included. Measure your frame first.
  • Medical mattresses cannot be returned once opened, for hygiene reasons.
  • Inspect the packaging on arrival and report any damage within 72 hours of delivery — freight claims cannot be filed after that window.

This equipment should be selected and used in line with guidance from the patient's physician, wound care nurse or other qualified healthcare professional. Morelli Medical does not provide clinical assessment, prescribe equipment, or advise on wound management.
