Fire Safety & Local Compliance Policy

Morelli Medical sells hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) chambers and related medical devices to customers across the United States. Because hyperbaric chambers involve pressurized oxygen environments, certain states, counties, and municipalities may require site inspections, fire safety permits, or compliance with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 99 Health Care Facilities Code before a chamber can be legally installed and operated.

Morelli Medical is not responsible for, and expressly disclaims all liability related to, obtaining NFPA 99 approval or any local fire marshal permits for any product we sell. This responsibility rests solely with the customer and must be addressed prior to completing a purchase.

What is NFPA 99?

NFPA 99 is a set of safety standards established by the National Fire Protection Association that governs the installation and operation of medical equipment — including hyperbaric oxygen chambers — in healthcare and certain residential facilities. Compliance requirements vary widely depending on:

  • Your state and local jurisdiction
  • Whether the chamber is being used in a clinical, commercial, or residential setting
  • The type and class of hyperbaric chamber being installed
  • Requirements set by your local Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) or fire marshal

Because these requirements differ from location to location, Morelli Medical cannot determine, manage, or guarantee compliance on behalf of any customer.

Customer Responsibility

By purchasing any product from Morelli Medical, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • It is solely your responsibility to determine whether NFPA 99 or any local fire safety code applies to your intended use and location
  • You are responsible for contacting your local fire marshal or AHJ before installation to assess all applicable requirements
  • You must obtain all necessary permits, inspections, and approvals before operating any product purchased from Morelli Medical
  • Morelli Medical cannot and will not initiate, manage, or assist in the fire marshal approval process on your behalf
  • Failure to comply with local fire safety regulations is not grounds for a return, refund, or warranty claim

Limitation of Liability

Morelli Medical shall not be held liable for:

  • Any fines, citations, penalties, or legal action resulting from failure to obtain local fire safety approvals
  • Shutdown or denial of operation ordered by a fire marshal or AHJ
  • Any financial losses, damages, or costs incurred due to local regulatory non-compliance
  • Delays in installation or use caused by pending local permits or inspections

Our Recommendation

We strongly encourage all customers — particularly those installing hyperbaric chambers in clinical, commercial, spa, wellness center, or multi-unit residential settings — to consult with their local fire marshal before placing an order to confirm what approvals, if any, are required in their jurisdiction.

For personal home use, requirements may be minimal or non-existent depending on your location — but it remains your responsibility to verify this independently.

Need Product Documentation?

If your local fire marshal or AHJ requests technical documentation, safety certifications, or product specifications to support your compliance review, we are happy to provide available manufacturer documents upon request.
